El Día De Reyes blog hop

"El Dia De Reyes" (or The 3 Wise Men Day) in Puerto Rico is a very important Holiday in the Christmas season. Although children here (PR) do get some  toys on Christmas Day, it is on El Día De Los Reyes Magos when they get most of the toys  and clothes as gifts. Many towns celebrate this day with people impersonating the Reyes Magos and giving away candies and gifts. It is a reason for families to throw big parties and family gatherings. In Puerto Rico, children do not put their shoes on the window like they do in Mexico. What they do is they put water and fresh cut grass near their beds for the camels of The Three Wise Men to eat. The next morning, the grass is gone and the children wake up to open the presents the "Reyes" put under or beside their beds.

El Día De Reyes en Puerto Rico es un día de fiesta muy importante. En este día, se hacen grandes fiestas y reuniones familiares. En algunos pueblos, algunas personas se visten como los Reyes Magos y regalan dulces y otras cosas a los niños. Distinto a Méjico, los niños en Puerto Rico colocan agua y yerba para los camellos cerca de sus camas. A la mañana siguiente, los niños abren ansiosos los regalos que Los Reyes les dejaron debajo o junto a sus camas.**

This year, I decided I wanted to make another altered picture frame, to give to my daughter on the Three Wise Men day. I think I will make one every year and start a tradition.
**Éste año decidí volver a hacer un porta retratos para mi hija y regalárselo el Día de Reyes. He pensado hacer uno todos los años, empezando así una nueva tradición.**

I used the Cricut cartridge Winter Frolic to make the images of the Three Kings, and then decorated them with crystals and glitter. **Usé el cartucho Winter Frolic para hacer los Reyes Magos y luego los decoré con cristales y escarcha.

I then painted the picture frame and stamped the phrase "Felíz Día de Reyes" all over the frame. I used gold ink and the collection Felicidades*mini* from my own stamp line: ADORABLE. ** Pinté un porta retratos y estampé la frase "Felíz Día de Reyes" repetidas veces sobre el marco. Utilizé pintura dorada y sellos de la colección Felicidades*mini* de mi nueva línea de sellos: ADORABLE.**

I made two tags, one with the Felíz Día de Reyes sentiment, and another with the year the picture was taken. **Hice dos "tags": uno con la frase Felíz Día de Reyes y otro con el año en que se tomó la foto.

Finally, I affixed all images to the picture frame. **Finalmente, coloqué todas las piezas sobre el porta retratos.**
